Edgemont is growing, and a new K–9 school is planned for the west Edmonton community. For families considering a move, the Edgemont Edmonton school is one of several local developments worth following as you explore homes, amenities and neighbourhood plans.
Where is the new Edgemont school being built?
The planned Edmonton Public Schools K–9 school is located at 8665 Edgemont Link NW, near Edgemont Community Park. The project is listed as being in construction, and the school is designed for kindergarten to Grade 9. Edmonton Public Schools currently projects an opening in fall 2028. (epsb.ca)
Construction timelines can change, so families should check the school division’s project page for the latest updates before making plans around a specific opening date.
What could the school mean for Edgemont families?
A neighbourhood K–9 school may make school-day routines more convenient for some local families and add another community gathering place as Edgemont develops. Its location beside the park also puts it among the neighbourhood amenities buyers may want to consider when comparing homes in west Edmonton.
School attendance boundaries and enrolment details matter: living nearby does not automatically confirm which school a student will attend. Families should verify current information with Edmonton Public Schools.
Buying a home in Edgemont, Edmonton
When you’re searching for Edgemont homes for sale, look beyond the listing itself. Consider your commute, parks and pathways, nearby services, the school options that fit your family, and how planned projects may affect your day-to-day life.
A local real estate agent familiar with Edgemont real estate can help you compare properties and understand the neighbourhood—but school plans and future development should be treated as factors to investigate, not promises about home values or resale results.
