Born and raised in Edmonton, I was around the housing industry my entire youth. My father was an independent home builder. Being independent meant he touched every aspect of home construction and often with his four kids in tow. Being the oldest, I was allowed to attend “site meetings,” from walking a potential property to “supervising” the surveyors. I was always in tow. One of my earliest memories was troweling footings, and I did not like troweling footings!
Later in life, I pursued accounting at Grant MacEwan, which led me to the customer service industry, working for a global chemical manufacturer and distributor. I’ve recently spent the last six years as an executive assistant to one of Canada’s most successful automotive entrepreneurs. The fast-paced, high expectation of a corporate group was the perfect environment to hone my attention to detail and business skills, leading to real estate. This experience was an education available by no other means and to say that I’ve learned from the best is an understatement.
I have three wonderfully adventurous and strong children with my husband, a manager and director in the automotive industry. We love spending time together outdoors and being active. I’ve hiked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim, battled the West Coast Trail in six days and summitted many peaks throughout Jasper, Banff and Kananaskis. I’ve also run a marathon and strive daily to achieve new personal bests in the gym.
I’ve had many personal experiences in purchasing properties. Our first home was a fixer-upper…. our second home was a fixer-upper…. And our third home … that’s right, also a fixer-upper.
I love to travel, and I love being a tourist. I’ve gotten lost all over North America, from the jungles of Mexico to mountain tops in British Columbia to Downtown Disney. Not knowing, but getting there anyway, is half the fun. Did I mention Disney? I love Disneyland; I’m pretty confident I could compose a thesis about Disneyland, so if you require assistance with your Disneyland itinerary, I can help with that too.
